Pakistani security forces linked to enforced disappearance and killing in Balochistan

A human‑rights organization, the Baluch National Movement’s Human Rights Department “Pank”, reported that Pakistani security forces abducted a 19‑year‑old driver, Buharan Uddin, from his home on 28 October 2025. He was held for six months, subjected to severe torture, and his body was later found in the Turbat area of Kech district with clear signs of abuse.

The group also alleged that two other civilians were forcibly disappeared by the same forces, which it said include Pakistan‑backed “death squads” and military intelligence operatives. These incidents are said to occur amid a pattern of extrajudicial killings and disappearances across Balochistan.

The Balochistan Human Rights Council rejected related claims made by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, labeling them false. It also highlighted the case of a 17‑year‑old student, Haireenisa Wahid, who was reportedly abducted by security forces during a night raid on 20 December.

The organization warned that such practices raise serious concerns about the rule of law and basic human rights in the province.
