Pakistan's Balochistan anti‑insurgency operations kill dozens of militants

Security forces in Pakistan have intensified counter‑insurgency operations in Balochistan. Operation “Shaban”, led by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police in the Mastung district, killed three more terrorists on Monday, bringing the total killed since early July to roughly 140. The operation follows an attack on a police checkpoint in Ziarat that killed nine officers and abducted 18 cadets, whose bodies were later recovered. Forces also destroyed hideouts, ammunition dumps and arrested several suspected female suicide bombers.

A parallel intelligence‑driven campaign, Operation Al‑Azm, has killed 16 terrorists and dismantled multiple militant hideouts in areas such as Killi Kundi Umrani, Khad Kocha and Mastung, recovering weapons and explosives. The campaign coincided with the killing of a district judge and his security guard in Mastung and the death of a Federal Constabulary member in Lakki Marwat. Authorities say the operations will continue until terrorism is eliminated and peace restored in the province.
