Palacký University Faculty of Education approves 2026 budget

The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Education at Palacký University has approved its budget for 2026. The budget is nearly six million CZK higher than the previous year, with total contributions and subsidies approaching 259 million CZK.

Dean Vojtěch Regec noted that the faculty is focusing on efficient management, particularly as it handles the extensive reconstruction of its main building at Žižkovo náměstí. Additionally, the faculty expects to receive nearly 35 million CZK in 2026 through a new program designed to increase capacities in teaching, special education, and psychology programs between 2026 and 2037. This program is expected to increase student places in these fields by 10 to 20 percent.

Regarding spatial expansion, the Dean reported that the planned purchase of a building on Kollárova náměstí will likely not proceed, as the property is reportedly being directed toward another interested party. The faculty will need to seek alternative options for expanding its capacity.
