Palangka Raya haze begins to thin following heavy rainfall
Heavy rainfall in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, has begun to reduce the thick haze caused by forest and land fires (karhutla). On Monday morning, approximately two hours of intense rain helped clear the air, significantly improving visibility in key areas such as the Bundaran Besar and Jalan Yos Sudarso.
Despite the improvement in visibility, air quality remains a concern. Data from the Palangka Raya Forest and Land Fire Dashboard indicates that the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) is still at a “Very Unhealthy” level. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities and continue wearing masks to mitigate health risks.
