Palazzo Barbantini-Koch opens as BPER cultural hub in Ferrara

BPER Banca has inaugurated Palazzo Barbantini-Koch in Ferrara as its third cultural hub, joining existing sites in Modena and L’Aquila. The historic building, formerly the headquarters of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara, has undergone restoration to serve as a public space for art, architecture, and historical memory.

The new cultural center features a permanent exhibition titled ‘Uno scrigno di storia e arte a Ferrara tra passato e presente’, which showcases the former savings bank's core collection alongside works from the BPER corporate collection. The site also includes temporary exhibition spaces and the BPER historical archive.

To mark the opening, the ‘VANITAS. Fiori e simboli, da Hayez a Casorati’ exhibition will run from October 8, 2026, to January 31, 2027. This temporary showcase explores the evolution of flower painting in Italian art from the 19th to the early 20th century, featuring artists such as Francesco Hayez and Felice Casorati.
