Palermo Endometriosis Center Opens with Multidisciplinary, Patient‑Centered Care

The Arnas Civico hospital in Palermo inaugurated a new regional centre dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. Director Antonio Maiorana highlighted that the facility combines advanced surgical suites with a comprehensive, patient‑centred model that integrates gynecologists, surgeons, pain therapists, gastroenterologists, urologists, physiotherapists, psychologists and other specialists.

The centre also collaborates with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the University of Messina on research into non‑hormonal therapeutic strategies, with early results described as encouraging. Maiorana stressed that the aim is to move beyond fragmented care, offering personalized pathways that address pain, fertility, mental health and quality of life for each woman.
