Palermo officials plan partial reopening of Conca d’Oro shopping center

The administration of Palermo is working toward a partial reopening of the Conca d’Oro shopping center by mid-October. Following damage to the facility, reconstruction efforts for the affected areas are expected to continue in the months following the partial reopening.

Mayor Roberto Lagalla and Councilor for Productive Activities Giuliano Forzinetti stated that the municipality is coordinating with various stakeholders, including the curatorship and emergency services, to accelerate the recovery process. The city has also offered the use of adjacent premises to facilitate a return to full operations.

To support affected employees, the administration is working with INPS and the Fire Department to expedite bureaucratic procedures for social safety nets, specifically the activation of 'cassa integrazione' (wage guarantee fund).
