Italy police conduct widespread anti-drug operations and seizures

Law enforcement agencies across Italy have conducted a series of successful anti-drug operations, resulting in numerous arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics.

In the Modena region, Carabinieri seized approximately 133 kilograms of hashish and 9.5 kilograms of cocaine, valued at over 2 million euros, leading to the arrest of a 47-year-old resident. In Palermo, a couple was arrested after authorities discovered a drug depot in their home containing over 2 kilograms of cocaine and 15 kilograms of hashish.

Other notable operations include the arrest of two brothers in Messina following the seizure of 7 kilograms of drugs and 30,000 euros in cash. In the Lecco area, four people were arrested after more than a kilogram of heroin was recovered from a wooded area. Additionally, the Guardia di Finanza dismantled an international trafficking network operating between Spain and northern Italy, leading to three arrests.

Smaller-scale operations also took place in Lecce, where a 52-year-old was arrested for possession of heroin, and in Mondragone, where two people were detained after the seizure of over 2 kilograms of hashish and marijuana.
