Palermo prosecutors, Finance Guard and Tax Agency sign two‑year anti‑evasion protocol

On 18 June 2026, the Palermo Prosecutor’s Office hosted the signing of a biennial protocol between the Chief Prosecutor of Palermo, Maurizio de Lucia, the Regional Director of the Agenzia delle Entrate, Claudia Cimino, and the Provincial Commander of the Guardia di Finanza, General Domenico Napolitano. The agreement formalises closer cooperation to combat tax evasion and related fiscal offences in Sicily.

The protocol establishes faster exchange of information, joint investigative procedures and the creation of permanent technical‑operational tables to handle complex evasion cases that may have criminal implications. It also aligns enforcement actions with recent tax‑reform changes that link fiscal positions more directly to criminal procedure. The parties intend to monitor results periodically and report on the impact on the region’s fiscal legality.

The initiative is aimed at improving the efficiency, transparency and certainty of tax‑related investigations, with the expectation that coordinated action will deter fiscal fraud and protect public revenues.
