FIGC receives dossiers from 13 Italian cities for Euro 2032
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has formally received documentation from 13 Italian cities – Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Firenze, Genova, Lecce, Milano, Napoli, Palermo, Roma, Salerno, Torino and Verona – covering a total of 16 stadiums. This step, completed by the July 31 deadline, is part of the selection process for the UEFA Euro 2032 tournament, which Italy will co‑host with Turkey.
The dossiers will now undergo a technical review to verify that each venue meets UEFA’s infrastructural, authorisation, financial and organisational standards. FIGC plans to forward a shortlist of five venues to UEFA by 1 October, after which UEFA will give its final approval.
Among the submissions, Palermo has put forward a candidature for the Stadio Renzo Barbera. The stadium’s redevelopment is being designed by the international firms Populous and Turner & Townsend, with backing from City Football Group and Italian banks Intesa Sanpaolo, BPER, Banca del Fucino and Credito Sportivo. Salerno’s Arechi stadium is also listed as a candidate.
