Palestine heatwave expected to last until Wednesday
The Palestinian Meteorological Department has issued warnings regarding a severe heatwave affecting the region, which is expected to persist until Wednesday. Temperatures are projected to rise significantly, reaching up to 5 degrees Celsius above the annual average by Monday.
Weather conditions are expected to be hot in mountainous areas and extremely hot in plains, coastal regions, and the Jordan Valley. While nights may offer some relief in higher elevations, temperatures will remain relatively high in low-lying areas.
Authorities have advised the public to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, particularly during peak hours between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Additional warnings include precautions against starting fires in dry grass areas and a strict advisory against leaving children or the elderly in enclosed vehicles. Residents are urged to increase their intake of water and fluids.
