International Palestine Convoy Arrives in Turkish Cities to Raise Gaza Awareness

A civil‑society convoy that began in Srebrenica, Bosnia‑Herzegovina on 25 July 2026 travelled through Albania and Greece before entering Turkey at the İpsala border on 30 July. The "International Palestine Convoy"—comprising more than 500 activists from over 30 countries—has been touring Turkish cities to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the Israeli occupation of the West Bank.

In Ankara the convoy was welcomed by supporters of the Ankara Platform for Solidarity with Palestine. It then moved to Konya, where Mayor Hasan Kılca addressed the crowd, stating that “Israel is a problem for all humanity” and urging continued solidarity. Speakers such as Gazi Kılıçparlar and Dr İdris Polat highlighted the convoy’s non‑violent, international nature and condemned the “systematic terrorism” they attribute to Israel.

The convoy continued to Niğde and Adana, where large public gatherings featured slogans like “Free Palestine from the river to the sea” and prayers for Gaza. Organisers warned that Israeli intelligence had labeled the convoy’s Istanbul stop a “high‑risk” event, accusing Israel of seeking to sabotage the peaceful march. The convoy plans to proceed to the West Bank, aiming to end its 28‑day journey in Ramallah on 21 August 2026.
