Palestine weather forecast predicts thunderstorms and upcoming heatwave

The Palestinian Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for the region, predicting unstable conditions through Sunday followed by a significant temperature shift. On Sunday, partly cloudy to clear skies are expected with a slight drop in temperatures, though there is a possibility of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, particularly in eastern areas.

Temperatures are expected to decrease further on Monday, leading to normal summer weather. However, a warming trend will begin on Tuesday, culminating in a heatwave on Wednesday. During Wednesday, temperatures are projected to rise approximately two degrees Celsius above the annual average, making mountain areas hot and other regions extremely hot.

The department issued several warnings: residents in eastern areas should be cautious of slippery roads due to rain and the potential for flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas. Additionally, residents in Jericho and the Jordan Valley are advised to avoid prolonged direct sun exposure during peak hours (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM), avoid lighting fires near dry grass, and ensure children and the elderly are not left in closed vehicles.
