Palestinian deaths from settler violence reach 87 since 2019

The Wall Resistance and Settlement Against Committee reported that 87 Palestinians have been killed in settler attacks in the West Bank since the beginning of 2019. The data shows a sharp escalation in violence, with 25 deaths recorded in the first eight months of 2026 alone, marking the highest annual total in the recorded period and a nearly 79% increase compared to the entirety of 2025.

Geographically, the violence is concentrated in areas experiencing rapid settlement expansion. Ramallah and Al-Bireh accounted for 36 deaths (41%), followed by Nablus with 26 deaths (30%). Together, these two governorates represent 71% of all recorded fatalities. Other recorded deaths occurred in Hebron, Jerusalem, Salfit, Bethlehem, and Qalqilya.

The committee noted that the violence often occurs in concentrated waves rather than isolated incidents. Demographically, 61% of the victims were under the age of 30, including 12 individuals under the age of 18. The report suggests these attacks aim to intimidate residents, restrict access to agricultural lands, and facilitate land seizure.
