Palestinian detainee reports sexual harassment during Israeli prison interrogation

A Palestinian female prisoner gave a detailed testimony, recorded by the Prisoners' Affairs Authority, describing severe abuses from the moment of her arrest. She said Israeli forces raided her family home at dawn, transferred her through multiple interrogation centers, and subjected her to hours‑long questioning over several days, accompanied by threats against her relatives and repeated insults.

The detainee reported that an investigator repeatedly harassed her physically despite her clear objections. She also recounted multiple forced naked body searches and described the conditions in Damun prison as overcrowded, cold, infested with insects, with inadequate food, bedding shortages and a lack of basic hygiene supplies. The authority’s report calls for urgent international action to protect the rights of Palestinian women prisoners and hold responsible parties accountable under international law.
