Palestinian Health Ministry warns Gaza's health system faces worst crisis ever
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the health sector in the occupied territories is experiencing the most dangerous phase in its history. The ministry linked the deterioration to the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, escalating attacks in the West Bank, and a severe financial crisis caused by Israel’s seizure of Palestinian funds.
Minister of Health Majid Abu Ramadan warned that hospitals and health centers in Gaza are repeatedly targeted, while acute shortages of medicines, medical supplies, and fuel threaten the ability to provide life‑saving services to thousands of patients and wounded civilians. He appealed to the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian actors to open safe corridors, ensure regular delivery of medical aid, and halt violations against health facilities, emphasizing that protecting Palestine’s health system is a legal and moral duty of the international community.
