Palestinian Journalists Syndicate warns of campaign against media in West Bank

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has issued a warning regarding a large-scale campaign against journalists in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The syndicate stated that these actions are an attempt to suppress the truth and prevent the reporting of crimes committed by Israeli forces and settlers.

In a statement, the syndicate highlighted the ongoing media situation in the Gaza Strip, reporting that 260 journalists have been killed, more than 240 have been arrested, and over 150 media institutions have been partially or fully destroyed. They noted that 38 journalists remain in detention under inhumane conditions.

The syndicate expressed concern that the patterns observed in Gaza—including direct shootings, physical assaults, and arbitrary judicial decisions—are being extended to the West Bank. They called upon the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the International Federation of Journalists to provide immediate field protection for Palestinian journalists and to ensure accountability for those responsible.
