Palestinian Presidency warns of Israeli settlement plans in E1 area
Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, has warned against Israeli plans to construct approximately 3,701 settlement units in the E1 area east of occupied Jerusalem.
Abu Rudeineh stated that these measures represent a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions, specifically citing Security Council Resolution 2334. He argued that the E1 plan threatens the territorial unity and geographic contiguity of Palestinian land, aiming to undermine the possibility of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The spokesperson called on the international community, particularly the United States, to move beyond condemnations and take immediate practical steps to force a halt to settlement activities and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
