Pam Bondi blames Acting AG Todd Blanche for mishandling Epstein files

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, saying Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was responsible for the Department of Justice’s release of Jeffrey Epstein files that exposed victims’ personal information. Bondi, who was dismissed by President Donald Trump in April, argued that the department was obligated under the 2023 Epstein Files Transparency Act to publish the documents, but redaction errors led to the inadvertent disclosure of victim data while perpetrators remained concealed.

Democratic committee members, including Rep. Robert Garcia (D‑CA), announced plans to subpoena Blanche and voted on whether a formal subpoena is required. The controversy adds pressure on Blanche, who holds an interim position, and highlights ongoing partisan scrutiny of the DOJ’s handling of the high‑profile case.

Bondi’s remarks come amid broader criticism of the Trump administration’s management of the Epstein records, her own health concerns, and previous subpoenas she faced earlier this year.
