Pamplona to host 2027 Goya Awards on February 6
Pamplona has been selected to host the 41st Goya Awards on February 6, 2027, at the Navarra Arena. This marks the first time the prestigious Spanish film awards will be held in northern Spain, continuing the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain's effort to decentralize the event from Madrid.
Fernando Méndez-Leite, president of the Academy, and María Chivite, president of the Government of Navarra, announced the decision. The ceremony will follow the 2026 edition held in Barcelona. Key dates for the 2027 awards include the announcement of nominees on December 15, 2026, and the traditional nominees' party on January 11, 2027.
The local hospitality and tourism sector in Navarra anticipates a significant economic boost from the event, noting that hosting such a major media occasion during February will help reduce seasonal tourism fluctuations. The Academy also plans to organize various parallel activities, including exhibitions and professional encounters, throughout the region.
