Pamukkale University Hospitals acquire advanced 512-slice CT scanner

Pamukkale University Hospitals in Denizli have acquired a high-tech 512-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner, a device found in only a limited number of medical centers worldwide. The acquisition was made possible through the contributions of the Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Industrialists Foundation (DOSAV) and the local business community.

The device has been specifically allocated to the Stroke Center to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning for patients suspected of having a stroke. It allows for detailed imaging of brain blood vessels, which is critical for identifying blockages, assessing brain tissue condition, and selecting appropriate rapid treatment methods, such as clot removal procedures.

A protocol for the procurement was signed on February 5, 2026, following collaborative efforts between the university administration and local industry leaders. The device has been delivered to the hospital and has successfully undergone trial scans.
