Panama provides fire relief as Peru deploys drones for El Niño
In Panama, government institutions have mobilized to assist 38 families, totaling 94 people, following a fire in Calidonia. Under instructions from President José Raúl Mulino and First Lady Maricel Cohen de Mulino, teams are providing aid and coordinating assistance. Cleanup efforts, including the removal of debris from affected homes, have commenced.
In Peru, the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) has deployed drones, including Matrice 300 RTK models, to monitor high-risk areas in anticipation of the El Niño phenomenon. The operation follows a three-phase strategy: prevention, emergency supervision, and damage assessment. Initial deployments are active in the Huaycoloro and Punta Hermosa ravines, with plans to expand to vulnerable sectors in the north and south of the country.
