Peru coach Mano Menezes proposes new training center in Puno
Mano Menezes, the coach of the Peruvian national football team, is pushing for the construction of a new high-altitude training center, referred to as a ‘Videna’, in Puno. The initiative aims to help the squad prepare more effectively for matches played at high altitudes during the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.
Menezes, accompanied by Jean Ferrari, has already visited Puno to evaluate potential locations for the facility. The project is currently being managed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), with President Agustín Lozano expected to discuss the matter further in the coming week. The coach emphasized the urgency of the project, noting that the qualifying process is set to begin in late 2027 and construction requires significant time.
