Panama U-17 team arrives in Spain for World Cup preparation

The Panama U-17 national football team has arrived in Salou, Spain, to begin a series of friendly matches as part of their preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. Following a final friendly match in Panama where they defeated Sporting SM 1-0, the squad traveled via Madrid to the Tarragona province.

The team's schedule in Spain includes matches against Australia on September 24, Morocco on September 26, and CF Tortosa Ebre (a local side composed of U-20 and U-21 players) on September 29. The replacement of Vietnam with CF Tortosa Ebre follows Vietnam's inability to attend the tour.

Head coach Felipe Baloy stated that the tour is intended to evaluate the physical and technical condition of the players against opponents who will also participate in the upcoming World Cup. Panama is placed in Group A for the tournament, which will run from November 19 to December 13, alongside Qatar, Egypt, and Greece.
