Panasonic develops 4K remote cameras with global shutter technology

Panasonic has developed the AW-UE200 and AW-UER200 series, high-end 4K remote PTZ cameras featuring global shutter MOS sensors. This technology is designed to minimize image distortion when capturing fast-moving subjects and to reduce flickering in environments using LED walls or specific lighting setups.

The AW-UE200 series is expected to launch in February 2027. It features a 5K MOS sensor for high-definition 4K oversampling, a 22x optical zoom, and a high-speed pan/tilt mechanism capable of reaching 400 degrees per second. The AW-UER200 series, planned for release in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, includes a unique roll mechanism that allows the camera body to rotate between -200 and +200 degrees. This feature enables simultaneous output of 16:9 and 9:16 video, facilitating content creation for both traditional broadcasting and vertical social media formats.

Both series include AI-based auto-framing and subject tracking. Specific models will also support SMPTE ST 2110 and Dante for integration into IP-based professional video and audio production environments.
