PAOK FC unveils plans for New Toumba stadium
PAOK FC has presented the technical design and progress for the construction of the New Toumba stadium in Thessaloniki. The project, involving companies such as SALFO and the architectural firm Populous, aims to create one of the most modern stadiums in Europe.
The new arena is expected to have a capacity of between 34,000 and 35,000 spectators. Key design features include a ‘Fan Wall’ in the North Stand with 8,700 seats to create a unified atmosphere, and stands positioned up to 24 meters closer to the pitch. The stadium will also feature a roof designed to retain sound, solar panels, and a focus on bioclimatic sustainability.
The project timeline targets the submission of building permit applications by the end of 2026. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2027, with an estimated build time of 40 months, potentially leading to a completion date around 2030. Additional urban improvements include the undergrounding of Kleanthous street and enhanced parking and green spaces.
