PAOK prepares for EuroCup as SKAI pursues GBL TV rights
Greek club PAOK announced the signing of veteran guard Nik Kalathi, confirming his place on the roster for the upcoming BKT EuroCup competition. The club also scheduled an extraordinary general assembly on 7 July 2026 at the PAOK Sports Arena to amend its statutes, elect a new board and discuss other matters.
At the same time, Greek broadcaster SKAI, owned by Giannis Alafouzos, has signaled a strong interest in acquiring the television rights for the Greek Basketball League (GBL). The network is reportedly preparing a bid that could reach €5 million, challenging the long‑standing partnership between the league and the public broadcaster ERT. Developments on the rights deal are expected in the coming weeks.
