SKAI expands sports rights, presenter reshuffle

Overview

In June 2026 the Hellenic Football Federation granted SKAI the broadcast and naming rights to the Greek Cup and Super Cup for three years, a deal valued at over €13 million. That same month SKAI secured Greek Basket League rights on a 2+1‑year contract worth €25 million, with most of the sum earmarked for the 14 clubs. After a brief dispute over an editor‑in‑chief role, veteran presenters Nansi Zampetoglou and Thanasis Anagnostopoulos returned to the flagship channel in early July, hosting from the newly re‑established Studio 4 at the Radio Megaron complex.

The reshuffle continued on 26 July 2026 when veteran journalist Giannis Pittaras announced his departure from the morning show “Dekatianoi” after a four‑year run, signalling the end of the original team. Co‑host George Grigoriadis assured viewers they would remain at the station in other capacities. The change is part of a broader presenter overhaul: Akis Pavlopoulos also exited, while new programmes “Morning Information” and “ONLINE” began on 27 July with a refreshed lineup. Apostolos Maggiaridis joined the midday news bulletin, Lena Flitzani stayed on as chief anchor, and journalist Pavlos Tsimas is slated to move to Mega. These adjustments aim to maintain SKAI’s weekend news block and reinforce its daytime offering while the sports rights agreements remain in force.
