PAOK defeats Aris 2-0 in Thessaloniki derby

PAOK secured a 2-0 victory against Aris in the Thessaloniki derby during the 4th round of the Stoiximan Super League at Toumba Stadium. The match was decided in the first half by goals from Cherif NDiaeye, who converted a penalty in the 32nd minute following a handball by Fabiano Leismann, and Andrija Živković, who scored in the 41st minute after a defensive error.

The win moves PAOK to second place in the standings with 9 points. Aris, led by coach Michalis Grigoriou, expressed significant frustration regarding the officiating of Italian referee Andrea Colombo, particularly concerning the penalty and the handling of cards in the second half.

Prior to the match, PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis visited the training center to motivate the squad, urging players to show character and fight for the championship, promising substantial bonuses for a title win. Player Giannis Michailidis noted that Savvidis's presence provided a significant boost to the team.
