Papantla releases hundreds of green sea turtles

Hundreds of green sea turtle hatchlings were released at Rancho Playa in Papantla, Veracruz, as part of ongoing conservation efforts to protect marine species that nest along the local coast. The release event involved local officials, environmentalists, and tourists, highlighting the importance of preserving the coastal ecosystems of northern Veracruz.

The turtles were previously cared for by the Tortugueroy Sanctuary and the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP). Authorities emphasized the need to strengthen marine fauna protection culture and involve both residents and visitors in safeguarding the biodiversity of the Gulf of Mexico.
