Paphos police arrest suspects after violent attacks on food delivery drivers

Police in Paphos have arrested two individuals following a violent series of attacks against food delivery drivers in the village of Mouttalos. The incidents occurred on a Tuesday evening around 8:40 PM.

The first incident involved a 26-year-old delivery driver who was attacked with a stone by a man and three accomplices after they refused to pay for a food order. As other delivery drivers arrived to assist, a group of approximately ten men, some reportedly carrying metal objects, attacked the drivers and damaged their motorcycles.

Following this, four suspects in a vehicle targeted a 22-year-old delivery driver in Mouttalos. Three individuals exited the vehicle, assaulted the driver, and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash.

Five delivery drivers sustained injuries during the attacks and were treated at Paphos General Hospital. While four were discharged, one required further hospitalization. Authorities are investigating multiple offenses, including conspiracy to commit felony, robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and unlawful possession of a weapon. A 35-year-old suspect has been placed under eight-day detention, and a 22-year-old suspect has also been arrested.
