Pará sees dual fire incidents on July 25, arson hits Curuçá cultural stall and bakery blaze rescues Marabá manager

On the night of July 25, a fire suspected to be arson devastated the Barraca do Carimbó, the central venue for the Folklore Festival in Curuçá, Pará. Municipal authorities labelled the act criminal, launched an investigation and pledged to protect the town’s cultural heritage.

Later the same night, a blaze broke out at a bakery on Folha 22 in the Nova Marabá district of Marabá, Pará. Police entered the smoke‑filled building, cut power and rescued the manager, Alexandre Socorro Silva, who suffered difficulty breathing from inhaled smoke. Firefighters and emergency teams treated him before specialized crews arrived.
