Pará tops North Brazil job growth; Botucatu adds 156 formal positions

In the first half of 2026, Pará recorded a net increase of 17,488 formal jobs, with 261,658 admissions and 244,170 separations, according to the Novo Caged. This placed the state ahead of all others in Brazil's North region, contributing about 37.7% of the region’s total net job creation. Services accounted for 78% of the new positions, while Belém alone added 4,106 jobs.

In June 2026, the city of Botucatu reported a positive employment balance of 156 formal jobs, based on 2,188 admissions and 2,032 separations. The services sector was the main driver with 112 new posts, followed by agro‑pecuary (49 jobs) and industry (31 jobs). Construction and commerce posted negative balances but maintained high turnover. Both reports reflect continued diversification and growth in Brazil’s formal labor market.
