Paraíba launches 3,100 dog and cat sterilization slots in July

The Paraíba Pet program, run by the Secretariat of Executive Animal Protection (Sepa‑PB) under the State Health Secretariat, will provide 3,100 free sterilizations for dogs and cats during July. Mobile castration units will travel to 16 municipalities across the coastal, agreste, Borborema and Sertão regions, offering between 60 and 240 slots per city. The initiative aims to curb the stray animal population, prevent zoonotic diseases and promote responsible pet ownership. Animals receive clinical evaluations and pre‑operative exams before the procedures.
