Paraíba police investigate deaths of over 200 animals in Teixeira

The Civil Police of Paraíba conducted an operation named ‘Áfonos’ to investigate the deaths of more than 200 dogs and cats in Teixeira, located in the state's Sertão region. During the operation, authorities executed five search and seizure warrants against members of a single family suspected of involvement in animal cruelty.

Police seized mobile phones, which will undergo forensic analysis to gather information regarding the authorship and dynamics of the animal deaths. Delegate Thitto de Amorim noted that the warrants aim to collect new evidence for the investigation and emphasized that the measures do not imply guilt of the suspects.
