Paraguay acquires Cessna SkyCourier to boost emergency response
The Paraguayan Air Force has added a Cessna SkyCourier C-408 to its fleet to strengthen the state's capacity for emergency response, humanitarian assistance, and strategic transport. Financed by Itaipú Binacional, this twin-engine turboprop aircraft is the first SkyCourier to enter military service in Latin America.
The aircraft is designed for versatility, allowing for rapid reconfiguration between passenger, cargo, and medical evacuation modes. For medical missions, it can accommodate up to four stretchers simultaneously, facilitating the transport of patients from remote regions to complex hospital centers.
With an endurance of over five hours and the ability to operate on runways with limited infrastructure, the C-408 will support logistics in isolated areas, medical evacuations, and assistance during climatic events.
