Paraguay investment programs attract significant foreign capital
Paraguay is seeing a surge in foreign investment through government initiatives such as the Paraguay Investor Pass and the Unified System for the Opening and Closing of Companies (SUACE). The Investor Pass program, a joint effort by the National Directorate of Migrations and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, allows foreign investors to obtain permanent residency directly. It is projected to attract between USD 100 million and USD 120 million in investments by the end of the year, with approximately 50,000 people entering the country via this route.
Investment requirements vary by sector: USD 70,000 for production projects, USD 150,000 for tourism, and USD 200,000 for real estate or stock market investments. Additionally, the SUACE system manages approximately 380 investors per month. The country is also seeing growth in Simplified Shares Companies (EAS), with an average of 1,300 new entities being registered monthly. This simplified mechanism allows for business formalization within 72 hours and has already facilitated the opening of over 7,000 bank accounts this year.
