Investment and economic development in Paraguay
Overview
Paraguay is actively promoting economic growth through regional business expos and government-led investment initiatives. In Ciudad del Este, the International Real Estate Investment Expo Paraguay 2026 brought together over 50 companies to discuss urban transformation, financing, and the integration of artificial intelligence in the sector.
Complementing these events, the government has implemented programs such as the Paraguay Investor Pass and the Unified System for the Opening and Closing of Companies (SUACE) to attract foreign capital. The Investor Pass, a collaboration between the National Directorate of Migrations and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, offers a pathway to permanent residency for investors. This program is projected to attract between USD 100 million and USD 120 million by the end of the year.
Furthermore, the rise of Simplified Shares Companies (EAS) has facilitated rapid business formalization, with approximately 1,300 new entities registering monthly and over 7,000 new bank accounts opened through this mechanism this year.
