Paraguay municipal polls show leads for Díaz Verón and Camilo Pérez

Recent opinion polls in Paraguay indicate significant leads for certain candidates ahead of the 2026 municipal elections in Caazapá and upcoming elections in Asunción.

In Caazapá, incumbent Amado Díaz Verón (ANR) holds a 27-point lead with 58% of the voting intention, according to a survey conducted in late August among more than 1,000 voters. His primary opponent, Juan Ortellado (Yo Creo), follows with 31%. Approximately 11% of respondents remain undecided.

In Asunción, Camilo Pérez of the Colorado Party maintains a substantial advantage for the mayoralty. A survey by Grau & Asociados places Pérez at 43.6%, leading opposition candidate Soledad Núñez, who holds 22.6%. Another poll by Ati Snead Consultores shows a similar trend, placing Pérez at 52.1% and Núñez at 35.2%. Pérez has also introduced proposals focused on modernizing the Municipal Transit Police through technology and training.
