Paraguay prepares for municipal elections on October 4

Paraguay is preparing for municipal elections on October 4, which serve as a strategic indicator of the national political landscape ahead of the 2028 presidential elections. These local contests are viewed as a critical test for political alternation and a challenge to the long-standing hegemony of the Asociación Nacional Republicana (ANR), which has historically utilized municipal structures to maintain political influence.

To facilitate an informed electorate, RCC is launching “El debate, su voto informado” throughout September. This initiative will feature debates among candidates in several locations, including Asunción, Luque, San Lorenzo, Lambaré, Loma Plata, Filadelfia, Boquerón, and Mariscal Estigarribia. The debates will be broadcast via RCC TV and RCC Radio to allow citizens to compare municipal proposals and visions.
