Paraguay pursues tourism growth and international retail expansion
Paraguay is actively pursuing international economic and tourism growth. The National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) recently participated in the Latin American International Tourism Fair (FIT 2026) in Buenos Aires. Led by interim executive secretary Javier Ramírez, the Paraguayan delegation used a 148.40 square meter stand to promote the country’s cultural identity and culinary offerings, aiming to establish new commercial channels between public and private sectors.
In the retail sector, the Brazilian company Havan has identified Paraguay as a key destination for its international expansion. Owner Luciano Hang confirmed that he has met with Paraguayan authorities, including the president and ministers, to discuss potential operations. While no specific investment amount or opening date has been set, Havan is also considering expansion into Uruguay, specifically Montevideo. This follows Havan's domestic growth strategy, which aims to reach 203 stores in Brazil by 2026.
