Paraguay receives new military aircraft to bolster surveillance and medical evacuations
The Paraguayan Air Force is expanding its operational capacity with the arrival of new aircraft. This includes the final A-29 Super Tucano from a six-plane batch purchased from the Brazilian firm Embraer, completing a $105 million investment intended to strengthen airspace surveillance.
Additionally, the country is receiving a C-408 SkyCourier, acquired for approximately $11.3 million. This twin-engine aircraft is designated for multipurpose roles, including military transport, cargo, and passenger transit. A primary focus for the SkyCourier will be aeromedical evacuations, with the capacity to transport up to four patients simultaneously, as well as providing assistance to remote and indigenous communities.
The official reception ceremony in Luque is expected to be led by President Santiago Peña and Defense Minister Óscar González.
