Paraguay to receive first U.S.-deported migrants under migration pact

Paraguay announced it will participate in the U.S.-led expulsion program, hosting foreign nationals deported from the United States even if they have no prior ties to Paraguay. The move is part of a bilateral migration framework formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by both governments, with the Paraguayan Foreign Affairs Ministry confirming the arrangement.

In the initial phase, Paraguay will receive 25 migrants per month. The first flight from the United States carrying deported migrants from third countries is expected to arrive in Paraguay under the agreement.
