Paraguayan livestock sector sees opportunity to improve reproductive indices
The Paraguayan livestock sector is experiencing a period of high calf valuation and increased interest in retaining breeding females. According to Cristian Méndez, technical commercial coordinator for Tecnovax, this market context provides a unique opportunity for producers to improve reproductive indices through enhanced sanitary management, diagnostics, and technology.
High calf prices and a lower participation of females in slaughter have led to greater expectations for upcoming reproductive services. Producers are increasingly adopting tools such as fixed-time artificial insemination (IATF) and improved vaccination strategies to maximize efficiency, as each additional pregnancy now carries a higher economic impact.
