Paraguayan transporter killed in ambush near Puerto Iguazú

A 23-year-old Paraguayan goods transporter, Carlos Daniel Arrúa Adorno, was killed following an ambush on the Paraná River near Puerto Iguazú, Argentina.

Arrúa Adorno was traveling from Presidente Franco, Paraguay, toward Puerto Karumbé in Argentina alongside his brother and another individual to transport merchandise. Upon reaching the Argentine coast, the group was reportedly intercepted by armed individuals. During the encounter, Arrúa Adorno sustained a gunshot wound.

His companions attempted to transport him via speedboat back to Paraguayan territory. He was taken to the San Camilo Sanatorium in Presidente Franco, where medical staff confirmed he had arrived without vital signs. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive, with some reports suggesting the conflict may have involved a dispute over merchandise.
