Paraguay's family farms generate over 670 billion guaraníes in three years

Paraguay’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) reported that family‑farm producers earned more than 670 billion guaraníes from domestic sales between 2020 and 2022. The growth came from expanded direct‑sale channels, public procurement, and the “Hambre Cero” food‑security program, as well as regular family‑farm fairs organised across the country. The ministry said 39,360 producers and 1,700 farmer organisations benefited, with 42 million kg of produce marketed internally and over 220 billion guaraníes generated through sales.

MAG Minister Carlos Giménez highlighted the model’s focus on financing, technology, technical assistance and stable markets to boost productivity and integrate smallholders into predictable supply chains.
