Parama Ekadashi 2026 Rituals Promoted Across India

Parama Ekadashi, a rare "Mahamasa" ekadashi occurring on 11 June 2026, is regarded in Hindu tradition as a highly auspicious day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The fast and associated prayers are believed to remove poverty, erase sins, and bring prosperity, peace and success in personal matters such as marriage and career.

Devotees are advised to chant the Vishnu Sahasranama, recite sacred verses from the Bhagavad‑Gita and other scriptures, and perform a specific puja at a basil (tulsi) plant. Traditional offerings include lighting a ghee lamp before the basil, presenting Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar), yellow fruits like bananas or mangoes, and sweets such as halwa, besan laddus or saffron‑flavoured pedas. Additional practices such as feeding the poor and donating charity are also recommended to enhance the blessings.

These recommendations are presented as ways to invoke Vishnu’s favour, with the belief that observing the rituals can dispel hardships, attract wealth and secure a harmonious household.
