Paramount Skydance considers Nashville move amid antitrust battle
Paramount Skydance is reportedly exploring a relocation from California to Tennessee, specifically Nashville, as it weighs its future amid a legal battle over its proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The company is reportedly seeking approximately 400,000 square feet of office space in Nashville that could be ready within two to three years.
The potential move comes as California Attorney General Rob Bonta leads a coalition of 12 states in an antitrust lawsuit to block the merger, arguing it would reduce competition in the film and cable markets. Paramount CEO David Ellison has signaled that the company may sell historic studio properties and move operations out of Los Angeles if the merger remains stalled by legal challenges.
In response to the litigation, Paramount has requested that the states post a $1.88 billion bond to compensate for losses incurred due to the delay. Meanwhile, a California court has ordered mediation between Paramount and the state Attorney General, scheduled for mid-October, to attempt to resolve the dispute.
