The filing indicates the company may abandon its film‑distribution joint venture with Universal Pictures, a step aimed at satisfying European cinema operators.

The EU Commission has extended its review deadline to 22 July, giving regulators time to assess the proposals. While the U.S. Department of Justice has cleared the deal, several U.S. states are preparing lawsuits to block it, and Britain is considering intervention over potential impacts on media plurality and children’s programming. Approvals have already been secured from regulators in multiple other jurisdictions.
