Paraná and Concepción del Uruguay partner for bicentennial history project
The municipalities of Paraná and Concepción del Uruguay, in collaboration with the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos (UADER), have signed an agreement to produce a collective book commemorating the bicentennial of their elevation from villages to cities in 1826. The work will be based on research regarding the political, social, and institutional configuration of Entre Ríos during the 19th century and its role in national organization.
In addition to historical preservation, Concepción del Uruguay is hosting a cultural cycle titled ‘Personajes históricos al diván’ (Historical Characters on the Couch). Organized by UADER’s Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the event uses museums to explore the intersection of history and psychology by analyzing the lives of figures such as Eva Perón, Justo José de Urquiza, and Manuel Belgrano.
Furthermore, the Universidad de Concepción del Uruguay (UCU) held a constitutional law conference focused on municipal autonomy. The seminar addressed current challenges regarding local government sustainability, fiscal constraints, and the constitutionality of municipal taxes.
